Below are some of the most frequently asked questions in our showroom from clients who are new to the cabinet design process.
Here at Prestige, we try to make the design process as simple and stress-free as possible
for our clients.
How do I set up an appointment to get a quote?
Our expert kitchen designers at both our Summerside and Charlottetown locations are available Monday through Friday for appointments and consultations. How much does a new kitchen cost?
Our job here at Prestige is to build your dream, which means we also work with your budget. New cabinetry cost depends on size, colour, style, and of course, your budget. Our designers do their best to ensure we can build your dream as cost-efficiently and as stress-free as possible. To get an appropriate estimate, please inquire about a design consultation, which are always free of charge.
What information do I need to bring?
Whether you have decided to stop by or you have booked an appointment with one of our team members, you should bring any information or ideas for your project that could make your design experience with us as efficient and easy as possible!
Any information such as inspirational pictures, colour ideas, paint or flooring samples, appliance model numbers, etc. are key pieces of information that can lead to a smooth and stress-free design process.
Start to finish...how long does a project take?
Depending on the time of year, our manufacturing process is running anywhere from 6 -10 weeks on the entirety of a project. Of course, that can fluctuate in excess, depending on our clients and the length of their decision-making process as well. We are also able to do supply only agreements, in which you or someone you hire installs the cabinetry we've built once it is completed. These contracts often take a few weeks off of the project time. But, for those that our Prestige installers complete,the majority of our projects here run on a timeline of approximately two months. We advise you call and inquire about lead times in advance prior to any project.
What is the difference between laminate countertops, and stone such as quartz or granite?

Is "supply only" an option with you?
Yes! If you or someone you know is confident installing cabinetry, no problem. Supply only projects are often available 2-3 weeks faster than installation projects, but that is not always guaranteed. We allow supply only on projects that may have contractors or carpenters helping our clients, however we advise that you only trust those who have experience installing cabinetry to install our products.
Do you refinish older/pre-existing doors?
Unfortunately, we only work on our own products. Local carpenters or cabinet makers may be able to paint or refinish doors, but here at Prestige we are not able to take your existing doors and refinish them.
Can we add to our existing kitchen?
If it is a Prestige kitchen, then it is possible! Unfortunately, our stain colours are always evolving and changing over the years, so it may take some time to stain match. Wood grains can be inconsistent as well, and different wood grains also take stain colours differently. We can not guarantee an exact match, but we have had many happy customers over the years who have added pieces to their Prestige kitchens.
